China will host the 2026 Forum on Global Human Rights Governance in Beijing from June 11 to 12, bringing together more than 400 Chinese and foreign guests from nearly 100 countries and international and regional organizations including the United Nations, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian announced on Monday.
Lin made the remarks at a regular press briefing in response to a question about the upcoming high-level forum, which coincides with the 40th anniversary of the adoption of the UN Declaration on the Right to Development.
Lin said China looks forward to exchanges and mutual learning among participants under the theme of promoting human rights through development, with the aim of building consensus and jointly realizing the vision outlined in the UN Declaration on the Right to Development.
He added that China hopes the forum will contribute to building a fairer, more equitable and inclusive global human rights governance system.
