China on Tuesday urged the US to stop its groundless suppression of Chinese companies, after the US recently listed some Chinese tech firms as military-related enterprises.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Lin Jian made the remarks at a daily press briefing in response to a related query.

China urges the US to rectify its wrongdoings and stop groundlessly going after Chinese companies, Lin said.

China will take necessary measures to firmly safeguard Chinese companies' legitimate rights, he said.
