China places 16 more narcotic, psychotropic substances under control

BEIJING, June 17 (Xinhua) -- China's drug control authority announced on Wednesday that it will place 16 additional non-medicinal narcotic and psychotropic substances under control.

The control will take effect on July 1, 2026, according to the office of China National Narcotics Control Commission.
After this addition, China has placed 412 types of non-medicinal narcotic and psychotropic drugs, as well as the entire categories of fentanyl-related substances, synthetic cannabinoids and nitazenes-related substances under control.
