A hot meal is something many people take for granted. But for many older people, everyday tasks like grocery shopping and cooking can become more challenging.

Across cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing, community canteens are making everyday life easier. Residents can enjoy affordable, freshly prepared meals close to home, without the hassle of shopping and cooking.

While these dining halls were created with seniors in mind, they have also become popular with office workers, delivery riders and other busy residents.
