Zhu Changjie, former vice chairman of the government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwest China, is under probe for suspected severe violations of Party discipline and the law, an official statement said Saturday.

The case of Zhu is being investigated by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision, the statement said.
