Responding to a query related to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's resignation announcement, spokesperson Guo Jiakun said at a regular press briefing that this is part of the UK's internal affairs.
Guo noted that both China and the UK are permanent members of the UN Security Council and major economies. He added that a long-term and stable comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries benefits both nations and peoples and also contributes to world peace, stability and prosperity.
"The two sides need to work in the same direction, deepen bilateral cooperation and coordination in multilateral affairs, and jointly sustain the improvement and growth momentum in bilateral relations," said Guo.
