China urges the US to stop its blockade and any form of coercion or pressure on Cuba and stop infringing upon the Cuban people's right to survival and development, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said at a daily briefing on Thursday.

China has consistently opposed illegal unilateral sanctions without a basis in international law, Guo emphasized.

"We firmly support Cuba to explore a socialist development path in line with its national conditions, and firmly support Cuba in safeguarding its sovereignty and opposing foreign interference," Guo said.
