In May this year, international military officers studying at the People's Liberation Army (PLA) National Defense University visited Zunyi, Guizhou Province, to trace the enduring spirit of the Long March. Wood conveys the tale of a legendary military maneuver: trees serve as living memorials for fallen soldiers, dismantled doors serve as bridges of hope and wooden blocks press the paper that bears the weight of revolutionary optimism.
