Planes from both sides flew over the Sea of Japan, East China Sea and western Pacific Ocean, demonstrating the two forces' resolve and capability to safeguard regional peace and stability, the PLA Air Force said in a brief statement, noting this has become the 11th "joint aerial strategic patrol" between the two nations.

A video clip published by the PLA Air Force shows that several types of aircraft, including the J-10C fighter jet, Su-30MKK strike plane, YY-20 refueling tanker, KJ-500A early-warning and control aircraft, and H-6K bomber, took part in the operation.

It also shows Russia's Tu-95 strategic bombers flying near Chinese aircraft.
