BEIJING, July 3 (Xinhua) -- China's State Council has issued a plan for building a Beautiful China during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), setting out the overall requirements, targets, key tasks and major projects for comprehensively advancing the initiative.

By 2030, China aims to achieve an overall improvement in ecological and environmental quality and make significant progress toward building a Beautiful China, with green production and lifestyles largely established and the carbon peaking target reached on schedule, according to the plan.
The plan outlines seven key tasks, including efforts to keep the skies blue, waters clear, and lands clean. It also aims to promote ecosystem improvement, actively address climate change, and accelerate the adoption of green production and lifestyles.
It also proposes major projects in areas such as air pollution prevention and control, water and marine ecological environment protection and restoration, soil pollution source control and treatment, industrial solid waste management, and coordinated treatment of new pollutants.
