Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning noted at a regular press conference on Monday that products that meet market demand and offer good quality at reasonable prices will naturally be popular.
Mao made the remarks in response to a question about the growing popularity among European consumers of Chinese-made summer cooling products, including air conditioners, fans and multifunctional sun umbrellas.

"The structure of China-EU trade is driven by market demand and is a natural result of complementary advantages," Mao said. "The facts have shown that in China-EU trade, consumers benefit while suppliers profit."
This is not a matter of forced buying or selling, but of mutual choice and shared benefits, she said.
Mao said she hoped that "relevant people in Europe will view China-EU economic and trade relations objectively, abandon a zero-sum mentality and work together to expand the pie of mutually beneficial cooperation."
