"The Strait of Hormuz is a strait for international navigation and an early resumption of its safe and unimpeded navigation serves the interests of all parties," Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Lin Jian said at a routine press briefing in Beijing.
The shipping issues surrounding the strait need to be properly resolved to adequately address the general concerns of the international community, he said.
"China stands ready to maintain communication with relevant countries and the international community on the matter," the ministry spokesperson said.
