Vowing to steadfastly advance high-standard opening-up, China on Wednesday warned that artificial decoupling, protectionist barriers and forced restructuring of industrial and supply chains will bring heavy economic losses to all parties.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian made the remarks at a regular press conference in Beijing when answering questions on global industrial and supply chains.
Lin said global industrial and supply chains are deeply intertwined and mutually complementary, forming a community of shared interests where all thrive or suffer together.
"Artificial decoupling and supply chain severance, erecting protectionist barriers and forcibly restructuring industrial chains will not only incur huge economic costs but also run counter to market rules and corporate choices," he said. "Such moves will ultimately make all sides pay a higher price while reaping fewer gains."
"China will unswervingly expand high-standard opening-up, give full play to its strengths, which include a vast market and complete industrial system, and continue to steadily supply quality products and cooperation opportunities to the world," he said.
