BEIJING, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Tian Xuebin, former vice minister of water resources, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and dismissed from public office over serious violations of discipline and laws, China's top anti-graft agency announced Thursday.

Tian was also a member of the leading Party members group of the Ministry of Water Resources.

Upon the approval of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and the National Commission of Supervision (NCS) had conducted an investigation into Tian's case, according to a statement by the CCDI and NCS.

The investigation found that Tian had seriously violated the Party's political and organizational discipline, as well as discipline on upholding integrity, work and life, committed serious job-related violations and was suspected of taking bribes.

In line with Party regulations and laws, a decision has been made to expel him from the Party and public office, confiscate his illicit gains and hand over his case for judicial proceedings.
