Slovak President Peter Pellegrini arrived in Beijing on Monday for a three-day state visit to China, his first since taking office.

During the visit, President Xi Jinping will hold talks with Pellegrini to jointly draw a blueprint for the future development of China-Slovakia relations, and have an exchange of views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of mutual interest.

Slovakia is among the first countries to recognize and establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China and remains one of China's important partners in Europe.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said that through the visit, China is ready to work with Slovakia to deepen their traditional friendship and political mutual trust, better synergize their development strategies, and expand exchanges and cooperation across various fields.
