BEIJING, July 30 (Xinhua) -- China on Thursday criticized a decision by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to add foreign-made power inverters and advanced robotic devices to its "Covered List," noting that the move discriminates against and suppresses Chinese companies and products.

The addition to the list will prevent related new products from obtaining FCC authorization and entering the U.S. market.

The U.S. side should immediately revoke these measures and end its erroneous practices, a spokesperson with China's Ministry of Commerce said.

The spokesperson said the FCC has, despite China's repeated representations and restrained approach, continued to introduce and escalate restrictive measures, seriously harming China's legitimate trade interests, undermining the stability of China-U.S. economic and trade relations, and disrupting the stability of global industrial and supply chains.

The United States has overstretched the concept of national security and used administrative measures to interfere in normal commercial transactions and trade activities, disregarding the strong calls from industries in both countries, the spokesperson said.

The pursuit of "decoupling and supply chain disruption" constitutes a typical case of market distortion and unilateral bullying, according to the spokesperson.

If the United States insists on moving ahead, China will take resolute countermeasures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests, the spokesperson noted.
