DUSHANBE, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- A reading seminar on the fifth volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" was held Wednesday here in the capital of Tajikistan.

Participants from various sectors of China and Tajikistan shared their reflections on the book and exchanged views on Chinese modernization and China-Tajikistan relations.

The event, themed "Advancing Modernization Together and Building a China-Tajikistan Community with a Shared Future," was jointly organized by China International Communications Group, the Chinese Embassy in Tajikistan and the Dipservice under the Tajik Foreign Ministry.

Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan Guo Zhijun said the book not only documents China's development practices, but also contains profound reflections on state governance, social development, people's well-being and international cooperation.

Its publication will help the international community keep abreast of the latest development of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and deepen its understanding of China's ideas, solutions and wisdom, Guo said.

Rashid Alimov, former secretary-general of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and professor at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Tajikistan, said the ideas presented in the book have been validated both in theory and through China's development practices.

China's historic eradication of extreme poverty, its emergence as a major global economy and its growing role in scientific and technological innovation demonstrate the vitality of these ideas, he said.

In a video address, Yang Jin, deputy director of the Center for Central Asia and the Caucasus Studies at the Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said Chinese modernization is a successful path suited to China's national conditions.

It is also a path of peaceful development, openness and mutually beneficial cooperation, creating broader space for aligning the development strategies of China and Tajikistan, Yang said.

The book also inspired Anora Nazhmuddinova, a Chinese-language major in Dushanbe who is preparing to study in Shanghai.

She said the book contains rich ideas on cooperation and development and calls on countries to pursue common development and mutual benefit. She hopes to continue drawing inspiration from it and become a young ambassador for China-Tajikistan friendship.
