BEIJING, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese and Egyptian air forces are set to conduct joint exercises in Egypt from mid-August to early September, a Chinese military spokesperson said Friday.

Chen Xi, a spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, told a press conference that the drills, codenamed "Eagles of Civilization-2026," mark the second joint training between the two air forces.

The exercises will focus on air combat tactics, air superiority operations, combat search and rescue, as well as force employment drills, the spokesperson added.

Chen said the joint training will further enhance mutual trust and traditional friendship, deepen practical cooperation between the two militaries, and contribute to regional peace and stability.
