NANNING, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- One person has been confirmed dead and four others remain trapped following a landslide in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Monday, local authorities said.

The incident occurred at around 11:26 a.m. in Mangchang Township, Nandan County, according to the county's emergency management bureau.

Local authorities immediately dispatched a joint rescue team to the site. All-out search and rescue efforts are underway.
