Foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian remarked on the alert at a regular press briefing in Beijing.
“Regarding the safety alert, I want to stress that Eswatini faces high public security risks and rampant telecom fraud and online gambling,” Lin said. “The Chinese government therefore issued the safety alert after a careful assessment of the current situation in Eswatini to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens,” Lin said.
