China said Friday that experts and official agencies from China and Nepal have assessed the cause of a mudslide in Southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, with their analysis indicating that it was triggered by a high-altitude glacial collapse in Nepal.

"Experts and official agencies from both China and Nepal have made some assessments of the cause of this disaster, and analysis indicates it was triggered by a high-altitude glacier collapse in Nepal," Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Lin Jian said at a routine press briefing in Beijing.

"For specific details, please refer to information released by Chinese authorities."
