HARARE, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese automotive brand Jetour has officially launched a range of sport utility vehicles (SUVs) in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe, expanding its presence in the southern African country.

The launch on Friday introduced Zimbabwean motorists to the Jetour Dashing, a five-seater compact SUV with a sporty design; the family-oriented seven-seater X70 Plus; and the rugged T1 and T2, designed for off-road performance.
Michael Hove, dealer principal of Jetour Zimbabwe, said at the event that the vehicles combine luxury, modern technology and rugged performance suited to local driving conditions.
To underscore its commitment to long-term reliability, Hove said Jetour offers a 10-year or one-million-kilometer engine warranty to strengthen consumer confidence.
"Jetour is here to set a completely new benchmark for automotive assurance in this country," he said, adding that local customers will also benefit from a robust parts supply chain and certified technicians.
Greg Sebborn, an early adopter of Jetour vehicles in Zimbabwe, welcomed the brand's expansion, saying its entry brings quality vehicles to the local market.
"I have owned the vehicle for eight months and have driven it in all kinds of road conditions -- dry and wet, on sand, through mud and over rocky terrain. I am happy to say the vehicle has looked after me," Sebborn told Xinhua.
Viola Mkwamba, a guest at the event, said she was initially skeptical about new Chinese vehicles entering the Zimbabwean market, but was impressed by the Dashing, calling it stylish and good value for money.
"For me, a car is not just a mode of transport; it should reflect my personality and lifestyle," Mkwamba said. "Jetour is offering cars that are modern, stylish and luxurious while still being suitable for our local road conditions."
