In accordance with Nepal's needs, China is preparing its third batch of emergency supplies for the country and a second batch of DNA identification experts will be dispatched as well, the Chinese foreign ministry said on Wednesday.

Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated at a routine press conference in Beijing that the supplies will include Bailey bridges, mortuary cabinets, epidemic-prevention supplies, and emergency communication equipment.

Previously, on Tuesday, China's second batch of relief supplies, along with a team of five DNA identification experts, arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal, as part of Chinese aid efforts following a deadly mudslide on August 26. Nepal expressed gratitude for the aid and technical support.

Triggered by a sudden glacier collapse in Nepal's border area that day, a major mudslide caused significant casualties and left people missing on both the Nepali and Chinese sides of the border.

The spokesperson said that since the disaster took place, China and the embassies of relevant countries have maintained close communication and worked together to investigate and handle the aftermath. "Border residents and pilgrims stranded in the disaster area are leaving the country in an orderly manner through land and air ports," he said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday notified the embassies of relevant countries in China of information regarding missing foreign nationals, and will continue to maintain open communication with relevant embassies through various means, Guo said.

"China attaches great importance to the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions in Nepal, and is working with Nepal to conduct a full-scale search and rescue operation for missing Chinese citizens and assist in the safe transfer of a large number of Chinese citizens," Guo said. "The Chinese Embassy in Nepal will continue to make every effort to provide assistance to Chinese citizens in need."
