Beijing (People's Daily) - Nearly 500 teachers and students, Li Qianguo, counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, Lwin Lwin Khaing, principal of Ngamaeaing High School and representatives of municipal, legislative, information and education authorities attended an educational donation event organized by the embassy at Ngamaeaing High School in Myanmar's Ayeyarwady Region on Wednesday.

Donated items included solar power generation and storage systems, information technology equipment, fans, grass-cutting machines and sports equipment.

San Yu Maw, head of the Hinthada District Education Office, expressed appreciation for the embassy's longstanding care and support for local education.

Lwin Lwin Khaing presented a certificate of donation to the embassy and said the donated items were well suited to the school's actual needs.

During an interaction with the embassy delegation, Grade 9 student Ma Linn Lett Nay Chi Zaw and Grade 12 student Maung Chit Lin Ko, among others, said they were pleased to be students at a China-Myanmar Friendship School.

Ngamaeaing High School was designated the 17th China-Myanmar Friendship School in March 2016.

The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar has provided assistance to schools through the China-Myanmar Friendship School program, including support for teaching environments and facilities across the country.

The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar has said it will soon donate educational materials to China-Myanmar Friendship Schools in Bago, Yangon and other regions.
