China has every right to carry out necessary construction activities on its own territory. There is no room for unwarranted accusations from Vietnam, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Thursday.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun made the remarks at a regular press conference in Beijing when asked to comment on a Vietnamese foreign ministry spokesperson's recent claim that Vietnam has so-called sovereignty over Xisha Qundao.

Xisha Qundao is an inherent part of China's territory. There is no dispute over their sovereignty, Guo said.
