Nepali journalist praises China's support for Nepal disaster relief

China has "consistently" helped Nepal through major natural disasters, Sharachchandra Bhandary of Nepal's National News Agency said in an interview with CGTN.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Media Forum in south China's Guangdong Province, Bhandary highlighted China's support following the August 26 mudslide, including equipment, medical and logistical assistance and funding. Recalling China's response to Nepal's devastating 2015 earthquake, he said the two neighbors have long supported each other through difficult times.

He also expressed condolences for the lives lost in both China and Nepal and called for closer cooperation in remote sensing and disaster information sharing to better prepare for future emergencies.
