5 dead in north China car accident

HOHHOT, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Five people were killed after a truck lost braking control during an uphill test and collided with a minivan on Monday in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, local authorities said Tuesday.
The accident occurred at a testing site in Alxa Left Banner at around 7 p.m. on Monday, when a truck undergoing an uphill test experienced brake failure and rolled backward, colliding with the minivan following behind to collect test data.
As of around 11 p.m. on Monday, five people in the minivan had died. Further investigation into the accident is underway.
