China, Indonesia vow to deepen exchanges, cooperation

BEIJING, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- China's top legislator Zhao Leji met with Ahmad Muzani, chairman of Indonesia's People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), in Beijing on Sunday.

Zhao, chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, said China is willing to work with Indonesia to follow the strategic guidance of the two heads of state and promote continued progress in the cause of bilateral friendship.

The NPC of China stands ready to maintain close exchanges with the MPR of Indonesia, expand cooperation and exchanges, deepen the sharing of governance experience, and better serve the development and rejuvenation of their respective countries, Zhao added.

Noting that Indonesia and China have a deep friendship, Muzani said that it is hoped that through this visit to China, the friendly cooperation between the relevant institutions and people of the two countries can be strengthened, and the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries can be continuously elevated to new heights.

The MPR of Indonesia is willing to enhance exchanges with the NPC of China and promote in-depth and substantive cooperation between the two countries in various fields, said Muzani.
