The 2026 Beijing Forum on Swift Response to Public Complaints will be held on October 12 and 13 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, the capital of China, according to a press conference held on Tuesday.

The event is co-hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Media Group, the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Beijing municipal government.

Held under the core concept of "People's City, Better Life," this year's forum will feature six parallel sessions and bring discussions on urban governance closer to residents by taking exchanges into communities and frontline governance settings.

More than 3,200 participants are expected to attend, including over 240 international guests from more than 70 countries and regions. They will be invited to visit Beijing's 12345 citizen service hotline center to experience its workflow and mechanisms firsthand, as well as the benefits of applying digital and intelligent technologies to public services.

The forum will release a series of major research findings, including theoretical studies on the "Swift Response" reform, evaluation reports on the service and governance effectiveness of city hotlines in China and around the world, and a collection of exemplary cases in global urban governance.

The event will also feature the first English-language book on "Swift Response to Public Complaints" and a special English-language issue produced in cooperation with an international academic journal.

The forum has drawn growing attention from the international academic community, with overseas scholars conducting comparative research on Beijing's experience, digital urban governance and community governance.
