Yuexiu Park is Guangzhou's historic central park, set on Yuexiu Mountain, a spur of Baiyun Mountain and the starting point of the city's traditional central axis. Established in 1927, it now covers about 690,000 square meters, with seven hills and three lakes. The park's cultural landmarks include the Five-Ram Statue, Zhenhai Tower, the Ming city wall, the Sun Yat-sen Monument and the ancient Chuting archway. As a national key park, a 4A scenic area and one of the Eight Views of Guangzhou, Yuexiu offers a calm green setting where the city's history is always close at hand.
