Beijing Road Cultural Tourism Area occupies the historic heart of Guangzhou. For more than 2,000 years, this compact district has been the city's political, cultural and commercial center, as well as the urban origin of Guangzhou. The open, free 4A scenic area brings together archaeological street layers, temples, former residences, time-honored shops and a lively pedestrian street. The route follows the city's historic north-south axis and remains a favorite place to browse Cantonese brands, taste local snacks and see how ancient foundations and contemporary city life coexist in one walkable neighborhood.
