A traditional folk event in Guangdong, the Spring Festival Flower Fair is one of Guangzhou's most celebrated annual traditions. Known as the City of Flowers, Guangzhou attracts widespread attention for its spectacular pre-New Year flower markets. In the run-up to the Spring Festival, potted flowers and kumquat trees fill the city's streets and alleys. Flower fairs are held in major parks and continue into the early hours of the first day of the Chinese New Year.
