China opposes certain Philippine individuals to hype up China-related issues

BEIJING, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- China firmly opposes certain individuals in the Philippines hyping up China-related issues and undermining bilateral ties, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said Monday.

Mao made the remarks at a regular news briefing after the foreign ministry of the Philippines said on Monday that it has summoned the Chinese ambassador to the Philippines.

Developing and improving China-Philippines relations is in the interests of both countries, Mao said, urging the Philippine side to restrain certain politicians' irresponsible acts and words.
