The China Coast Guard (CCG) on Wednesday monitored the whole process of a supply mission conducted by a Philippine vessel in the waters of China's Ren'ai Jiao in the South China Sea.

The delivery of daily necessities to the Philippine ship illegally "grounded" at Ren'ai Jiao was approved by the Chinese side, CCG spokesperson Jiang Lue said in a statement.

The CCG inquired and verified the Philippine vessel conducting the delivery and monitored the mission throughout, Jiang said.

The CCG will continue law-enforcement and rights-protection operations in China's Nansha Qundao and adjacent waters, including Ren'ai Jiao, in accordance with the law, the spokesperson added.
