6.1-magnitude quake hits Bouvet Island Region: GFZ

BEIJING, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 jolted Bouvet Island Region at 1524 GMT on Saturday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 54.07 degrees south latitude and 6.95 degrees east longitude.
