A report on the Global Governance Initiative (GGI) was released on Saturday at the 2026 Global Governance Forum (Xiongan) in the Xiongan New Area, north China's Hebei Province.
Prepared and released by the Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy Studies Centre, the report Global Governance Initiative: Towards a More Just, Inclusive and Orderly World traces the evolution of global governance and examines the challenges in ensuring justice, inclusiveness and order facing the current global governance system.
It outlines the GGI's five core principles: sovereign equality, the international rule of law, multilateralism, a people-centered approach and real actions.
The initiative represents a systematic advance beyond traditional global governance theories and provides a Chinese solution for reforming and improving the system, according to the report. Implementing it is essential to building a more just, inclusive and orderly world, it adds.
The report also reviews how China has put the initiative into practice and identifies priorities for its further implementation. These include UN reform, international relations, international security, development, human rights, economic and financial governance, artificial intelligence, cyberspace, and exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.
