Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday met with Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow in Beijing, calling for stronger strategic communication and deeper mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said the traditional friendship between the two countries has continued to gain new momentum, with the principle that "China and Thailand are one family" becoming more deeply rooted in people's hearts.

China appreciates the new Thai government, led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, for its firm commitment to a friendly policy toward China, Wang said, adding that this serves Thailand's fundamental and long-term interests and contributes to regional peace and stability.

China is ready to strengthen strategic communication with Thailand, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and take the building of a China-Thailand community with a shared future to new heights, he said.
