BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Wang Huning on Wednesday urged members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) to thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles from the just-concluded fifth plenary session of the 20th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
The plenum, held in Beijing from Oct. 26 to 29, adopted a resolution on persevering with full and rigorous Party self-governance.
Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, made the remarks while addressing the closing meeting of a standing committee session of the CPPCC National Committee.
Wang noted that the CPPCC must make thorough study and implementation of the plenum's guiding principles a major political task.
The CPPCC should fully implement the guiding principles in its work, strictly manage its members and other staff, and integrate efforts to improve their conduct and enforce discipline with anti-corruption measures, Wang added.
At the plenum, the CPC Central Committee decided the Party will convene its 21st National Congress in Beijing in the second half of 2027.
The CPPCC should focus its 2027 work on setting the stage for the successful convening of this congress, and studying, promoting and implementing its guiding principles, Wang said.
The meeting also adopted several personnel decisions.
