Multiple hospitals in the city have reportedly treated patients with unexplained pneumonia.

The Wuhan Municipal Health Commission has issued a statement, saying "the city has found 27 cases of pneumonia, with seven in critical condition and the rest under control.

Two patients are expected to be discharged from the hospital in the near future."

A preliminary investigation found that the disease has not spread from person-to-person and no medical staff has been infected. The source of the infection and the mode of transmission are still under investigation.

People with symptoms of pneumonia, especially a persistent high fever, should seek medical advice.
