Fang Fenghui and Zhang Yang expelled from the CPC

Fang Fenghui, member of China's Central Military Commission (CMC) and former chief of staff of the CMC Joint Staff Department, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) for multiple violations. Fang's case has been transferred to a military court to answer allegations of offering and accepting bribes.

Zhang Yang, the former head of the Central Military Commission's Political Work Department who committed suicide in November, has recently been given posthumous punishments by the military for corruption exposed during an internal investigation, the military said on Tuesday. Zhang has also been expelled from the Communist Party of China and assets related to the illegal activity have been confiscated.
