Fire extinguished in iconic hotel in central China, no casualties reported

A fire which engulfed Wuhan's iconic Jianghan hotel on Sunday afternoon has been extinguished, the municipal fire department says.

The fire broke out in Jianghan Hotel, a hundred-year-old building in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei Province, at about 3:30 pm Sunday. Smoke was rising at the scene, with no casualties for the moment.
The wooden rooftop of the five-story building caught fire due to renovations on the outside wall of the hotel.
The fire was brought under control, with investigation and rescue operations ongoing.
