The first 24-hour unmanned intelligent bookstore opened in the Xiongan New Area on Tuesday, creating a more convenient and intelligent experience for customers to buy and read books.

The intelligent bookstore, owned by state-run Xinhua Bookstore in Xiongan's Rongcheng County, is powered by a 5G network, providing network application guarantees for intelligent book borrowing, book returning, book purchasing, online reading and other application scenarios of an intelligent bookstore. Customers can enjoy a speed of up to 1Gbps in the bookstore. Reading online features high speed, large bandwidth and low latency of the 5G network, and downloads are done at a rate nearly 10 times higher than that of wired broadband access.

The intelligent process of book purchasing is unique to the bookstore. Readers can find books and buy books by themselves after entering the bookstore through a face recognition system. In addition, precise book positioning can be achieved thanks to intelligent recognition technology of the Internet of Things (IoT), and books can be paid through Wechat scanning.

While saving the time of purchasing books and enhancing the sense of scientific and technological experience of readers, intelligent substitution for manual labor is realized, which effectively reduces the operating cost of bookstores. At the same time, through the big data platform, it can analyze the reading preferences of members, facilitating the development of accurate marketing, doing a good job in user operation and maintenance.
