The floodwater pooled in the Jinsha River dissipated at around 5 pm Friday.
Thousands of people were evacuated along the Tibet Autonomous Region’s Jinsha River on Thursday after a landslide blocked the river, flooding nearby villages and threatening residents downstream.
Under the guidance of local governments, nearly 10,000 people living along the banks of the river downstream of the flooded area have been evacuated.
Jinsha River is the name for the upper stretches of the Yangtze River.
As of 11 am Friday, the reservoir capacity reached 170 million cubic meters, according to local officials.
As of 11 am Friday, the inflow speed is at about 1,350 cubic meters per second and the outflow speed is 150 cubic meters per second, according to local officials. (Photos: IC)
