Local immigration administrations provide 24-hour emergency services for visa issuance for both Chinese and foreign people who participate in the work of the epidemic prevention and control, providing things such as medical assistance, drug research and development, and academic exchanges. Foreigners who come to China to cooperate in the work of epidemic prevention and control or to engage in important business and scientific research activities without getting a visa in advance can apply for a visa at the port of entry.

The National Immigration Administration has also launched its "Internet plus government" online service to avoid large numbers of people gathering for visa applications and reduce the risk of cross infection. Chinese citizens and foreigners in China can submit online applications for visa and delivery service, and instantly inquire about the renewal of immigration policies.
