Forest fire in SW China put out; suspect under control

A forest fire in Southwest China’s Yunnan Province has been put out as of 7 am on Sunday, according to the local fire administration’s official social media account, the Beijing News reported.

A forest in Yaoan county caught fire at around 10 pm Thursday. The forest is now undergoing cleanup under the supervision of officials.
Local police said Sunday that a villager threw a cigarette butt while herding cattle, starting the fire. The suspect was being detained, according to police.
