Hohhot (People’s Daily) – Firefighters have extinguished forest fires raging since Thursday in the Greater Hinggan Mountains of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, authorities announced Sunday.

The fires had started in five places on the forest mountain, according to the Office of National Forest Fire Prevention Headquarters.

No casualty or damage to property was reported in the blaze which is said to have been triggered by lightning.

A total of 1,200 personnel, including 535 forest police, fought the blaze.
