Ai Wenli, the former vice chairman of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, has given himself up to the police in regards to suspected serious discipline and law violations, according to the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection on Tuesday.

Ai is the first vice-ministerial level official to give himself up to the police since the 18th CPC National Congress.
