Four people responsible for a deadly fire occurred in Anyang, Central China's Henan Province, have been put under police control, Mayor Gao Yong said at a media briefing on Tuesday evening.

The fire broke out at 4:22 pm on Monday at the plant of a commerce and trade company in Wenfeng district. Thirty-eight people were killed and two others were injured, according to Gao.
The identification of the victims and followup investigations are being carried out, said Gao.
Public security authorities have taken control of two suspects of the company and two persons in charge of Shangxin Clothing Co Ltd.
According to preliminary findings, sparks during welding operations caused the fire, igniting cotton fabric in the factory.
