The students, aged between 16 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of organizing and inciting secession.

It's the first time Hong Kong police initiated such arrest since the National Security Law took effect a month ago.

Li told reporters at a briefing that the four students were suspected of being involved in a newly established online group that advocated independence for Hong Kong.

Computers, phones, and documents were also seized, Li added.
