All Chinese citizens should be able to enjoy Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) services in their communities by 2022, according to a recently issued guideline.

At the end of 2018, 98.5 percent of community health service centers and 97 percent of township clinics nationwide had started providing TCM services, and over 60,000 traditional Chinese medical organizations had been established, offering more than 1.2 million beds, according to the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The guideline also said TCM services should go online, building a database of medical records and prescriptions and developing online TCM hospitals affiliated to medical institutions. (Xinhua)

European Union members agreed Monday to postpone Brexit for three months, stepping in with a decision less than 90 hours before Britain was due to crash out with no divorce deal.

The next departure deadline will be January 31 -- although the other 27 capitals would allow an earlier date if London ratifies a withdrawal agreement before then.

But in the meantime, London must agree that the withdrawal agreement it struck last month will not be renegotiated, according to the EU text. (AFP)

The vast majority of Japanese voters back allowing women to inherit the Chrysanthemum Throne, a new poll shows, as the royal family struggles with a dearth of male heirs.

The survey, conducted in the wake of last week's enthronement proclamation ceremony for Emperor Naruhito, found 81.9 percent favor Japan having a woman take the throne, with 13.5 percent opposed.

In Japan, not only are women precluded from inheriting the throne, but they lose their royal status if they marry a commoner, and their children are no longer considered part of the imperial line. (AFP)
